Guarana powder contains about 4.2% caffeine. The caffeine in guarana is assimilated better and more evenly by the body than the caffeine in coffee. Indians have known the stimulating effects of guarana for centuries and use guarana for hunting. They drink the powder with water or prepare guarana breads (also known as bastão).
Usage: You can mix the guarana powder with hot water or milk and add some honey or sugar for a nice hot drink.
The stimulating effects of guarana are best kept in the whole nuts. Two nuts are recommended per cup. These should be powdered with a mortar and pestle or coffee grinder. Prepare like coffee, using the grounds several times.
